Spring Trends: Shoes

It’s Friday! I like to join a “blog hop” at Musings of a Housewife. The author writes a fashion post every Friday. Other fashion blogs join by adding links at the bottom of the post. This is a great way for you to read some other fashion opinions. I strongly encourage you to check it out. I also think you’ll like enjoy “Musings”. She writes on a variety of topics and I encourage you to subscribe.

The first day of Spring is right around the corner. The spring clothes are filling the stores. Some of you in warmer climates are actually having spring weather. I sometimes get very tired of our rainy NW weather this time of year. I probably won’t be wearing spring clothes for two months. Nonetheless, it’s time to start reviewing spring trends. You won’t be surprised to find that I’m starting with SHOES.

I’ve mentioned SOFFT dozens of times. The reason they are one of my top brands is the fact that they come in Narrow, Medium and Wide widths. They are very stylish–contemporary and yet some more conservative styles. Their styles cross many age groups. Some of the heels below may seem a little high, but the platform makes a HUGE difference especially if you suffer from pain in the ball of your foot.

Here are few of my favorites from Online Shoes which has the same generous return policy I’ve come to love when shopping online for shoes. Online Shoes is now one of my affiliates. This means that when you click on the link (side bar) from my site and place an order, I will receive a small percentage of purchases. Although it’s not much, it all adds up to help offset blog expenses. I will explain more next week when I reveal my Amazon Store.

Notice all the neutral colors. I can’t emphasize enough how flattering and versatile these shades are with almost everything. If you love the ankle strap styles, neutrals are key so you extend the leg line instead of cutting it off at the ankle.

Oxfords are everywhere! You may recall I bought a pair by Boutique 9 this past fall. Now there are so many great choices by Boutique 9 and Steve Madden–all available at Nordstrom.

I’m not sure I am ready for these!  Reminds me of all those saddle shoes I had growing up.What do you think? What are your favorites?

I love them too! The last pair pictured I purchased. I have wide feet and usually that style doesn’t work for me and they were perfect. Thanks for the comment!

Love all the heels and really love the neutral colors! I don’t think I can wear oxfords – the last pair looks just like my golf shoes. ;)

Thanks Sherra! Yes, the neutral colors are so the way to go and now many more options that ever. I only showed a fraction of what is out there. As for the Oxfords, I had to agree that the one pair reminded me of my golf shoes sitting on the shelf in the garage (yes barely used).
I was shocked to see these in the store yesterday!

I love the nude heels, too! Especially the top middle pair. So snazzy! Thanks for sharing.

Alissa, there are so many great ones out there I had a hard time limiting. I think women think of a nude shoe as boring and dull but I think quite the contrary with all the great styles now.

Love the shoes. Tessa got a pair of gray oxfords this fall and has worn them more than any other shoe. They really go with everything. Cali had to have a pair too. I just ordered myself a pair of cognac colored ones and I can’t wait to start wearing them.

Leigh Anne–I loved my oxfords with zippers and get many comments. I didn’t know I was so cutting edge last fall and now they are everywhere :) I have admired Tessa’s gray ones too!

Thanks Candice! I have such a hard time with heels but when there is a platform it makes a world of difference.

I am probably weird, but I love the oxfords! They remind of the saddle oxfords I used to wear too but in a good way! Haha! Might just have to get some! I love y our blog! Thanks for all your advice!

Thx for the comment Emily! If we all liked the same things, it would be a boring world. I think the saddle type oxfords could be great with the right outfit. I’ll have to work on that. Thx for reading my blog.

I think I am going to get a pair of oxfords… I’ve been playing with the idea for awhile now, and I am getting there! The first pair may be the ones!

Love the heels – my favorite is the first one (top left). I’m all about strappy due to my weird feet. Have tried to wear my new heels several times but it’s been so rainy I’ve opted for closed toe.

      Karen says:

I don’t think you have that weird of feet in comparison to mine, Robyn! Look at all the choices we found in under 30 mintues at the Rack:)

Karen, thanks so much for the kind words! I love those neutral heels – every last one of them. I think I will have to invest in a pair this summer. I actually have one pair – they are wedge (espadrille style) with a beige leather sandal on top – Stuart Weitzmans I scored on 6pm.com for cheap (well, cheap for Stuarts, lol) and I love them. But I am really liking those pumps. And the gladiator-ish sandals ones. Dontcha love my technical fashion jargon? :-)

      Karen says:

I tried a “gladiator-ish” (perfect term) one from Sofft last year and it just didn’t fit my foot right. I was so glad they improved the style this year. I think designers are starting to understand the power of a neutral shoe.

Excellent point about ankle straps,,, I’ve thought that but it’s great you confirm it. I need the leg lenghting look but love ankle straps, so I’ll try to find one in my nude!

    Alex says:

Great advice, you definitely need nude tones for ankle straps especially if your legs are on the shorter side! Thanks a lot!
