I believe I went to my first Silpada party nearly ten years ago. It was love at first sight. Since that time, Silpada as a company has achieved great success. I enjoy promoting a company started by two women who believe in helping women succeed by working from home. Over the years I’ve gotten to know several Silpada consultants and have been to numerous shows. Women (myself included) are drawn to the unique designs. Whether it’s a statement piece, smaller necklace/earrings, or a touch of color, Silpada has it.
I’d like to introduce Silpada consultant, Kristi Thomas. You saw Kristi modeling in a previous post about belts. Today I’m writing about jewelry but click back and take a look at the belts as well. You can contact Kristi directly at kris_thomas@comcast.net
Kristi is generously giving away TWO $25 Gift certificates.Your comment will enter you in the drawing and TWO WINNERS will be chosen. Whether you are local or long distance, Kristi will take care of you. She has a wonderful sense of style, and is very talented at combining her outfits with jewelry ensembles. Silpada is a perfect fit for Kristi. I have enjoyed getting to know her the last year and am happy to feature her business on my blog. If you need help finding that right piece for a certain outfit or perhaps stepping out of your comfort zone with jewelry, give Kristi a call.
In recent posts I’ve mentioned that mixing metals is a current trend. Ironically, I’ve been mixing silver and gold for years. I’ve always loved 2-tone jewelry and bought my first watch with silver/gold in the nineties. I recall looking high and low for a two tone setting for my diamond in the Caribbean 8 years ago—hard to find! I succumbed to trends several years ago when I had my diamonds reset for a 20thanniversary. I went with complete white gold as it fit the vintage look I was trying to create. At times I miss my gold/silver combo.
I still standby the “rule” that gold looks better with warm tones and silver with cool tones. I wear both. I like to mix it. This season you’ll see gold silver and copper. Can’t wait to start mixing that and any other metals. Love these 2-tone pieces from Silpada.
Silpada is known for mixing silver, colored gemstones, and pearls. It adds texture and interest. The multi-stone look is one I love because I believe it increases the versatility of the piece tenfold. It also keeps away that “matchy-matchy” look in jewelry when your necklace, earrings and bracelet all match. Believe me, I have had my share of sets over the years. Instead, try to blend rather than match. It really adds interest to any jewelry combinations. I like to pick out one of the stones that is least dominant and find coordinating pieces to pick that up. If you like your pieces to match exactly I will be the last person to criticize. I just applaud you for wearing jewelry in the first place and adding interest and color to your outfit! Below are some great Silpada examples with multi stones.
Hopefully now you can see the possibilities. Above in VIEW #1 you can look for a necklace that has a pearls to go with these earrings. Look at all the versatility in VIEW #2. And for the last set of earrings you could pick out a necklace that would coordinate with the cubic zirconia. Now think the other way around and take a look at some necklaces and think what you could do with earrings.
These small photos don’t do justice to a 100 page catalog. You can view the catalog online beautifully. These pages will also show you the fine art of layering pieces which gives you many ideas to combine your smaller pieces with another longer. My previous post on jewelry may also give you some insight.
So what do you think? Are you ready to try mixing metals and stones? Post your comment by Sunday, August 22nd at 8 PM PST to be entered in the drawing.

Thanks Karen. I thought Silpada only carried silver. Love those natural toned necklaces!
I LOVE Silpada Jewelry! It is a little more pricey than some of the other homebase jewelry lines, but it is so worth it. I always receive complements when I wear my Silpada pieces. I am also excited about the mixed metal trend.
I too love Silpada and had my hair dresser just have $3000 show! One of my favorite necklaces is one that Karen found for me last year, three toned, gold silver and bronze and it is my go too necklace that goes with EVERYTHING. I get more complements on it too, which is nice. I love the layering that is going on with jewlery and Silpada does a great job in showing you how in the catalog.
Ironic for me you talk about mixing metals and Silpada. I was a “matchy” person forever until I went to my first party and bought a mixed metal bracelet and I continue to look for pieces to add to my collection. I love their jewelery and always get compliments. I had someone in an airport ask me if my bracelet was from Tiffany’s and it was Silpada :<).
Never heard of this company before. Beautiful stuff for sure!
I have loved Silpada for years but I haven’t seen a recent catalog. I always find too many things I would love to have. I would love to get a new updated piece even though my other Silpada is timeless.
Although I do not currently own any Silpada pieces I do appreciate their beauty. I too enjoy mixing metals and stones, although sometimes I still enjoy the matchy matchy look.
I loved how you gave examples of what type of necklace you might try to pair with the earrings. I love the silpada line and one of the hardest things for me is to not do the “matchy-matchy” thing! I have always purchased completely matching sets and then it just isn’t as interesting. Look forward to trying to think more outside the box. And the new line of products that Kristi is showing are wonderful and very flexible.
I love mixing and it was Silpada that got me to think about mixing. I use to think pearls were always formal but Silpada does some very fun things with pearls so you can wear them more casual. Thanks for always giving great examples of what to mix with what and new looks to try.
I’m going to my first Silpada party next week! I do mix metals a little, but am still not totally comfortable with it. Hoping I’ll see some things that make that a little easier for me! Thanks for all your ideas, Karen, and for the opportunity to win!! I’d be sooo excited!
Silpada is great. They inspire me to create more layers with my jewelry. Karen…PICK ME!!!
Please count me in!
I love being able to try on a lot of the different jewelry pieces at the Silpada parties; that way I know for sure how it will look on me!
My favorite Silpada earring are green squares. I love them.
I have never been to a Silpada show. The jewelry is gorgeous! Thanks!!
I am so EXCITED that I won a gift certificate. I have seen the new catalog, it will be hard to choose what to get. THANK YOU Karen.

I only learned about Silpada jewelry(due to a party invite by a church friend) about six months ago – Do you think I have been a box with the lid shut? LOL – I have been to 2 more parties now and REALLY LOVE your beautiful pieces! My degree of dollars won’t allow me to buy everything that I want, but I am gradually accummulating a handsome array of pretty things! I also have told a lot of my friends and family about your jewelry, and they are buying now too! Thanks much and blessings!!!
