Last night was another fashion extravaganza at the Oscars. As I’ve done in the past, I’ve come up with my own unique categories.
Best Look NOT in a Size 0: Octavia Spencer
She dressed beautifully for her body type. I loved the movie, loved her performance and am so happy she won!
Best Colors of the Evening: Viola Davis and Michelle Williams
Most Daring: Jennifer Lopez
Unique Style: Emma Stone and Stacey Kiebler
Simple Elegance: Penelope Cruz and Milla Jovovich (My personal favorites for the evening)
They should have consulted Style by Karen: I love all these ladies, just did not care for these dresses.

I loved Penelope Cruz. Just gorgeous. I also liked Octavia Spencer and Emma Stone. And I truly did love Angelina Jolie’s gown, I just wish she hadn’t felt the need to expose her leg quite so intentionally. @@
Angelina always has stunning gowns and while I liked the dress I just thought she looked so thin and not as FAB as usual. Everyone on my FB was commenting that she needed a few more cheeseburgers. LOL. I think I’m just over her and Brad. George Clooney and Stacey Keibler have been fabulous each awards show.
My favorite was Gwyneth Paltrow! So classic and simple!!
Yes, the cape was a little different, but I did like it !

I would flipflop your votes, Karen: I liked Meryl Streep’s dress just fine but thought Emma Stone’s big bow looked like a 1980s mistake. Penelope Cruz was my favorite. Loved that smoky blue! As for scrawny Angelina, leg-begging for attention… Hilarious that The Descendants writers had the wit and timing to parody her pose!
Thanks for the comment Barb! I gave Emma “unique style” but it wasn’t necessarily a hit in my book. By the same token, I gave Viola Davis best color, but my favorites were noted in Penelope and Milla. I just can’t wrap my brain around Meryl’s dresses for the award shows this season. It was a little better than the globes, but I just don’t get it.
A tie for me, Octavia Spencer and Penelope Cruz… A gorgeous dress on Octavia, and proof that you don’t need to be a size 0 to look spectacular. Much prefer that look to the emaciated look!
