New Year Greetings

Happy New Year! Thank you for your support and interest in my blog. I’m very excited to share even more with you this coming year. While I have a list of ideas, I always welcome your suggestions. Some of you have e-mailed me directly and others have commented on topics you would like me to address. Please feel free to do this anytime.

I thought I had it all planned.  Two posts written to reach you while I was away. Another ready to go on Christmas Day accompanied with a family photo. It didn’t quite work out the way I envisioned… One of our family traditions is attending our candlelight Christmas Eve Service. This year we were asked to read and light the advent candle. I had planned for a picture either at home before we left, or at church. It was color coordinated in shades of blue to match the tree decor at church. I was excited to get this “perfect” photo because it’s not every day everyone is dressed and somewhat cooperative. (teenage boys do not like being photographed or dressing up) Long story short–no photo. My last resort was a photo at our Christmas Eve party in more casual clothes which turned out OK, but needed editing. The post just didn’t happen before leaving for Hawaii on Christmas Day. Below is the photo that was supposed to say Merry Christmas!

It is now a New Year. Our vacation was spent in Maui and we all had a wonderful time. Our first night, the sun went down and became an “orange ball” in the sky. It was an amazing sight and I soon was obsessed with getting sunset photos. This is not an easy task: Timing (the sun can set quickly) blowing hair, finding someone to take the photo, and photographing directly into the sun were all factors that complicated the situation. Although there are  flaws, (perhaps the scenic one is the best) enjoy the beautiful sunset photos. I wish you all the best in 2010. May the coming year be  full of blessings for you and your family.
