It’s time again to request feedback from you, my readers.
Recently I met one of my readers when I was out and about. She recognized me! Now, as a blogger, this is a very interesting concept. As I’ve mentioned before, blogging can be a lonely world–one that does not provide you with face/face contact. You start by introducing your blog to family, friends and business contacts. You hope they will pass it on. Using assorted avenues to get your blog more exposure, you slowly hope that it will catch on and be well received. Eventually your readership becomes primarily strangers you do not know or will ever meet in person.
Because of these characteristics unique to blogging, it makes it even MORE fun to meet a reader in person. Reality hits. Yes, people are out there reading that I don’t know and will never meet. It’s a really strange concept to say the least.
We chatted for a few minutes and I took the opportunity to ask what SHE would like me to write about. After giving her suggestions, this reader was also quick to say…
“But maybe that is not what the majority of your readers want to hear.”
The bottom line is, I really like to ask for feedback periodically because I want to write about topics that pertain to YOU. Many fashion blogs have a certain audience. It’s probably fair to say that I speak to 40+ readers. At the same time, I know that I have twenty something and thirty something readers.
We as bloggers don’t know many details about readers unless they make a comment. And I know from the statistics, that there are many more reading that commenting. Every time a reader unsubscribes I wonder if it is due to content.
So now it’s time to turn it over to you. In a recent comment one reader asked for posts about new spring trends. I’ve been covering that off and on. Recently I’ve covered hairstyles and skin care which are also such a big part of your overall image.
Here are some questions. You can pick one or answer all.
1. Is there a topic you would like me to cover?
2. Would you like to see more or fewer posts? (currently I post about 2 times a week)
3. Keeping in mind that not every post will be of interest, do the majority of my posts speak to you?
4. I have mixed it up lately, but would you like to see longer or shorter posts?
You can answer in your comment like this to make it easy.
1. Going gray gracefully
2. More
3. yes
4. no opinion
Thank you very much! I have long list of ideas and hopefully it will be on track with your comments.

Once in a while I would like to hear about staying young in the mid sixties! We know I do… but so many don’t and I think it’s a must to look good and feel great in the years we never thought we would make it to. I grew up with the philosophy of dressing for success from the minute you get up. Makeup, everything, just in case you were caught on the night news running out of a burning house or won the lottery. Walking the streets in pajamas was unheard of. We now have so many comfortable day clothes…. why the slop!
Love hearing what you have to say!
Thanks CJ. It is a good reminder for me to cover comfortable not sloppy. I also agree that there are so many ways for the woman in her 60s to look great. Maybe you will have to be a model for me
1. make up application and products for 50 plus ladies
2. perfect number of posts
3. yes
4. I love the posts when you show examples of complete outfits
Keep them coming Karen, great job
Thanks Kristi. I have been planning to delve into makeup after I finished skin care. I’ll try to figure out a way to do it in writing.
1. I actually think your sample idea of ‘going gray gracefully’ would be a great topic. Also, I am not in a position to add many new pieces every season, so if you could show ways to use the same classic styles in multiple ways, I would like that. I’m all about stretching my dollar.
2. I think about twice a week is good. I read about 80% of them now, if there were more I still would probably only ready one or two a week. 3. I find most of your posts interesting, even if I don’t apply them to me. For example, I don’t think I’ll be getting in to colored denim, but I was still interested in your post about it. 4. I like the mix of long & short.
Thanks for taking the time to comment Heather. I will work on trying to show the same outfit in mutiples of ways. Glad you are still reading!
I usually check your blog pretty much everyday. I don’t comment much at all, but very much enjoy reading.
1. I love the whole outfit ideas… polyvore style I guess. Perhaps geared to specific body types, ie. curvy, pear shaped, etc. If I could add another idea, I have recently begun to have some foot problems and I LOVE cute shoes. Maybe some more about sensible cute shoes.
2. Amount of posts is good. I check everyday, if it is not new, I just move on.
3. yes, for the most part. I am 44, stay at home wife and homeschool mom. Still like to look fashionable even just at home or running errands around our small town.
4. Length of post does not matter to me! Thanks for asking!!
Thanks for the feedback Emily. I’m glad you enjoy it. I enjoy having some blogs in my favorites and I just check periodically. I also have some I subscribe to and that means it comes directly to e-mail. I do have the option to subscribe if you find that more convenient.
I have written a LOT about shoes because I have so many problems with my feet. If you go to that category you’ll read a lot about my quest for comfortable/cute shoes. Thanks for taking the time to write. I appreciate it!
1. Nothing specific but I really enjoy all your topics!
2. Perfect number of posts. I subscribe so it comes to me as an email, and I get so bogged down when some bloggers post every day! I really look forward to yours because they are spaced out over a few days.
3. YES!!!
4. No opinion.
I don’t comment much, but I always read! Thanks for all your help!
Steffani thanks so much for your feedback and for reading faithfully!
