kikaPaprika Clothing Giveaway!

It’s Fashion Fridayin the blog world! Check out All things Chic  for another great giveaway from Spiegel. Scroll down to the bottom to see all the other blog posts.

Today’s Giveaway is sponsored by Ruth Cekola, kikaPaprika consultant. kikaPaprika is an organic clothing company out of California. Yes, you read correctly—everything is made in the USA! Fun, fresh, eco-chic clothing for every woman, every age, every day. Perfectly timed for Earth Day!

Last year I featured a Scarf Giveaway. That post gave a  little more info about the company and Ruth’s passion for these soft, comfortable clothes. This year Ruth is offering a $50 Gift Certificate to one Style by Karen reader! In addition, if anyone joins her team, they will receive $100 in FREE clothing.

Now this is something to check out! The kika clothing is made from organic cotton and tencel (eucalyptus by-product). They are so incredibly soft, you’ll be instantly hooked. The burnout fabric is a poly-cotton made from recycled water bottles. Talk about being environmentally conscious!

There are many styles to choose from and here is the best part. Each item comes in a specified color. You can then CHOOSE to have them dyed in any color from the kika spring palette. Custom Colors to suit you. What other company out there does that? Below is the Joanie–this season’s best seller. The scarves come in solid, striped and the damask (burnout fabric). All proceeds from scarf sales go to women in need. It’s kika’s way to give back.

The kika line is shown at home shows similar to CABI. Each consultant has a line of samples in various sizes. The clothes are shown by the consultant. Then it’s time to try them on in the convenience of a home with friends to help give you advice. However, don’t feel you need to have a consultant near you. Ruth can help you long distance which means anyone nationwide can enter this giveaway. She will explain the sizing, send you more information and talk you through the process. I think you’ll find the photos on the site very helpful. My only complaint would be that the photos don’t show a front/back view. I’m sure that’s coming down the road. Their blog gives more views and sketches of the styles as well as the colors/sizing chart.

At first glance, many of the kika clothes may not seem suitable for the workplace. I think you’ll soon see that certain styles can be dressed up or down. They can be paired with skirts/pants you own. Some of the tops make great layering pieces under structured jackets. They are the perfect “Mom on the Go” clothes and great for the woman who works at home. Where were these clothes all those years when I was a baseball mom?

Above,  I love the awesome colors choices that enhance these models’ hair, skin and eyes. By the way, kika uses their consultants as models!

Both of these styles work well for someone who has broader shoulders and smaller hips. Note how the belt adds more volume on the bottom to balance shoulders. Great example of layered jewelry! You know I love seeing that.

Note how belts add so much interest to both outfits. The top in View #2 is a good example of a style that extends the shoulder line for all of you with smaller shoulders. It will visually balance your hips.

A wrap top is universally flattering on most body types. Draped neck dress (like the top shown above) does not add volume to your top half . Good choice if you have a fuller chest.

These were some of my favorite styles chosen specifically to highlight some of the recent body type discussion AND show nice example of adding belts/jewelry.

Now it’s your turn. Find your favorite style on Ruth’s site, make a comment which enters you in the Giveaway. If you want career information, just send a message to Ruth. Contest ends Monday, April 25th at 9 PM PST.

Check out the Marine or the denim. Keep in mind that all fabrics dye a little differently. You’ll see a little of that on the site, but check with Ruth to clarify.

I love the Kika pieces that I already have , especially the jackets that I have in purple and brown, unfortunately they are now too big and I am having trouble taking them out of my closet. I love the Joanie and the Tiffany(shown in camo), and the Sabrina ( in marine and belted) is one I would love to try. I also like how flowy the Nadine tank looks and the wrap shirt Sofia looks similar to the CAbi shirt that I love. I think I would also enjoy the Lola shirt in persimmon.

Thx Brenda. Where did you see it–I’m really curious? Do you have a favorite this season?

      • Brenda Jones says:

There was a representative at an event I did in Hillsboro over the holiday season, and I tried on some things ;) I really like the Sabrina, especially love it with the belt look – the Paris looks like a fun one too for a more casual day.

That Sally jacket in Persimmon really caught my eye. It is just so graceful, looks like it would be flattering. Might have to be the Marigold color, though, as I am now a redhead and would want some contrast. Besides, yellows are my favorite.

I absolutely LOVE the Lola top. Not far behind is the Max dress. Such a nice line — and I’m a sucker for super-soft fabrics.

Thanks Alissa! I also agree that the Max dress looks great on the model. I get all the names mixed up. I’m going to look at the Lola right now :)
