It’s May 1, May Day, the night of my son’s Sr. Prom and for me personally it marks SIX months of blogging! A big thanks to all of you faithful and new readers. My goal from the beginning was to write with a fresh perspective that set me apart from other fashion bloggers. Recently a reader told me just that. She said, “I haven’t seen anything out there like it. I love your blog because I read the articles and think to myself. Oh, someone else feels that way too!” I’ve had positive comments about content and information. THANK YOU. My goal is to reach the fashion challenged and fashionistas of all ages with helpful information. This article will highlight some of the things I have planned for the blog the next six months.
What about the purse post I promised: Handbags Part 2? In the last few days I’ve received a couple of e-mails and have been brainstorming myself. I am going to take another direction for Part 2 highlighting different styles that will coordinate with a Giveaway. Stay tuned… so much more to come on.
I’ve learned that many of you reading are somewhat new to the world of blogging. Here are a couple reminders that may help:
1. Subscribe by filling out the box on the home page. You will then be sent an e-mail that verifies that you want the articles sent to your e-mail. Many subscribers have never clicked to verify. This is required for it to come to your inbox.
2. If you are still interested in the information, but do not want more e-mail, consider putting it in your “favorites” or catching the posts on Facebook. I keep the articles 400-600 words. It is a quick read with photos. Sometimes it may be a touch longer, but I am very aware of busy lives and full in boxes!
3. I love the comments and so do readers. Your question may help another reader so don’t be timid about leaving a comment. Your first name is all that is required. You can also send me a note directly.
Starting this month, I will continue to post articles twice a week. In addition I will write announcements (sales or specials) and post photos ONLY one time a week on my Facebook page. The photos will be of some of my recent finds. If you are on Facebook, please enter Style by Karen in the search box to view the page.(you do not have to be ‘friends” with me) Instead of becoming a fan, you now “like” the page and you will receive the feeds. You can also suggest my page to your friends. I’m going to offer a drawing for Style by Karen Gift Certificate the end of May. All my Facebook fans (local and long distance) will automatically be entered–no comment required. Yes, we can do some of my services virtually!
Do you have a topic you would like me to cover? I have pages of ideas. Recently a reader asked if I would cover bathing suits for body types. It’s on the list! This week I also received great hand bag tips. Keep it coming. I love your feedback.
If you own or know a business owner who may want to be featured, please contact me. Speaking of contacts, evidently there were some “technical difficulties” with my contact form. Some messages were not getting to me. If you try and DO not hear back, please know that it did not go through. Try to comment directly on a post. Your e-mail is posted on my personal page and I can contact you. I answer all correspondence promptly.
And last, readers have requested photo layouts of complete outfits. There are many fashion blogs that feature this as their main focus. However I’m better at writing and do not have a graphic design background. I like to give a good mix of content and photos. Now I’ve found a source that will allow me to create these type of layouts. I’m experimenting and hope to have it ready soon. Thanks again for reading and referring your friends!
