When it comes to awards show there are times when I love to watch it moment by moment. Other times I’m so happy for the DVR so I can watch the highlights and fast forward through the rest. Last night was a DVR night. I have not seen many of the movies nominated this year. I don’t often catch the shows that aren’t on the major networks.
For my annual Golden Globe post, I decided to divide it into categories. I liked many dresses this year, but I did not have an absolute favorite. As always, I try to come up with my own views before watching or reading any of the Fashion Police out there. We’ll see who agrees with me tomorrow!
Best Mermaid: Sofia Vergara
The Best in Pastels : Jessica Alba and Julie Bowen
Most Unique Style: Charlize Theron and Claire Danes
The Best in Red: Reese Witherspoon (was it just me? I didn’t love her hair tonight.)
Unique Color of the Evening: Zooey Deschanel
Best Newcomer: Viola Davis
Best Couple: George Clooney and Stacy Keibler
Didn’t Love it: Jessica Biel, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Julianna Margulies and Michelle Williams
Most Disappointing: Meryl Streep
I think she is a brilliant actress and have loved most everything she has done. I just don’t care for the way she dresses at awards shows.

I never watch the award shows but love it when people magazine comes out with an article on the dresses. This year I got that through style by Karen. After reading what you posted i thought, did not like Meryl Streeps dress but more than that it was the hair, looked like she had just gotten out of bed. Reese’s hair had bad roots and to me that is never in style. None of what I saw wowed me. Thanks for the post Karen
I agree Kristi–the hair was just as bad as the dress. It obviously is just not a big deal to her and she is her own person not getting all caught up in the style part of the night. However, as one of her biggest fans, just once I’d like to see her “knock it out of the park” when it comes to style.
Brad and Angelina are my fans! Love the dress… but then she is so beautiful in anything she wears!
Love your write up! I didn’t see the show, but I liked and disliked the same as you. I like Brad and Angelina – although to me – she looks so stiff in this picture and a bit ghostly. And Brad looks to thin – I think it’s the greasy look hairstyle. I don’t know – not impressed with how they look. I agree about Reese…she is one of my favorites and her hair here is just horrible. And I agree on Meryl!

Nice !!!! I am right with ya, although I was not impressed with Brad and Angelina, yes great body but she looks kinda scary to me. Brad is just hot!!! Viola Davis rocked! I was watching show and didn’t realize till half way thru who she actually was. Sofia Vergara nailed it! So not the the typical mermaid dress, awesome. Mermaid it def the style for teens and wedding dresses out this way. Anyway , thanks for the update

I think Jessica Alba looked beautiful, the pastel color was perfect for her skin tone. Brad Pitt always looks dirty and ugly with that greasy looking hair and Angelina’s dress was pretty but they clearly don’t look too happy. And George Clooney is just handsome and keeps getting better looking with age, his girlfriend is beautiful and they do look lovely together.
Yes, after seeing and hearing other opinions out there, I would have to say that Jessica Alba was my overall favorite of the night. I just say Moneyball and Brad Pitt looks so much better with shorter hair! Thanks for the comment!
