NAS: Shoes, Boots, Handbags Oh My!

I hope you enjoyed my Top 20. Now it’s time to focus on my favorites in these other categories.

When it comes to the (NAS) Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I would encourage you to put your dollars towards shoes, boots or handbags if you have to make a choice. There will be plenty of clothes on sale through the season. This is the only time of the year you will receive these reduced prices on such quality items. Yes, you can hit it right with clearance items–we’ve all done that, but selection on sizes are limited.

If you do not see your size on the site, do NOT panic. Call a local store with the six digit number and ask a salesperson to search all the stores in the system. You can do the sale right over the phone and it will be sent to you FREE shipping. You will likely catch a sales person at the counter who may be in the middle of a transaction. Be patient or leave your name if possible. Things are busy this time of year. Also, things are returned every day, so check back on your favorite item if it is sold out now.

Shoes:

Cole Haan                                      Enzo                                            AGL

Franco Sarto                               Halogen                                                    Michael Kors

All of these have received rave reviews from customers trying based on comfort and style. The AGL is a regularly priced at $330 and they only go on sale one time a year and are down to $199. These are one of the most comfortable shoes out there and you will see many Nordstrom sales associates wearing them. That should tell you something.

Boots:

Born                                                Corso Como                               Michael Kors

Uggs                                              Ivanka Trump                            Cole Haan

Sam Edelman                                 Uggs                                     Clarks

FRYE! You cannot and will not beat these prices!

Handbags & Wallets:

Cole Haan                                     Hobo                                       B. Makowsky

Botkier                                        Cole Haan                                    Coach

The Lauren wallet by Hobo is always a hit and comes in a number of designs.

This concludes my posts on the  NAS. I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the selections especially if you do not have a store close to you. Let me know what you found. I’d love to hear.

Let’s Hear it for Spring Shoes!

I just looked at the date of my last post and said to myself, “What in the world?” I intentionally took some time off from writing, but certainly didn’t mean for it to be this long before I wrote a post again!

I want to thank all of you who took the time to give me some feedback. I really appreciate your input. You are still welcome to contact me anytime if you have an idea you would like me to cover.

I’ve been doing a little research, gathering some new ideas for Giveaways, and now it’s on to shoes for spring. It may be a bit before we can wear spring/summer shoes in the Northwest, but if you live in a warm climate or traveling this spring, this should give you some ideas!

Last year I wrote about wedges and you will see some of those same styles in the stores this year.

Let me just say that there are is a LOT of choice this season. First off– the flats category with nearly 700 choices at Nordstrom. Unless it’s a torrential downpour, you should be able to wear many of these styles right now.

Let me narrow it down for you a little. Here are a few of my favorites determined by price point, comfort and style. If you scroll over the photo, you will see the brand name and style name. This allows you to take that info and search your favorite shoe site. For example, choice #1 is: me too kaden. The brand name is ME TOO and the style name is KADEN. You can use Google to do price comparisons on this style or just place that info in the search box of the site you are looking at. Comparison shopping made easy for you!

What to wear with flats? As you can see below, just about everything.

New Trend: Boatshoes

Although spring is a few months away, I like to show upcoming trends and highlights– some that can be worn now. It’s really easy to grow tired of your darker colors in January and February. Tangerine Tango could be the color you need to brighten up your grays and other neutral colors.

Now it’s on to shoes. Last summer when I linked to the What Kate Wore website a reader asked about boat shoes. Kate had worn a pair of Sebagos during their trip to Canada and the US. She asked what I thought of these shoes and how to wear them. I admittedly was a little behind. I knew these shoes were making a comeback as my son had also asked for a pair of Sperrys, but I really had not fully embraced them as an upcoming trend.

Now you will see them everywhere–reminiscent of the 80s with a spin. Two tone, a little bling, bright colors…What do you think?

Sperry Top Sider is one of the main brands for boat shoes for men and women. You’ll see at Zappos there is much more–everything from a flat to boots. Check out all the options!

Boat shoes look great with a straight leg jean or casual pants that require a flat shoe. It seems to be just the right cut to show them off. Remember, as we get into spring straight cut jeans look great rolled which shows off the shoes even more. Some of you will like them a skinny jean, others think their feet and these shoes will stand out too much. I also think they will look great with a walking short in the spring/summer.

Thought it would be fun to show a little bit of spring. I would love to hear what you think and if you’ll add these to your spring shopping list.
