CABI Giveaway

CABI stands for Carol Anderson by Invitation. Yes, a clothing show in your home! I’ve been purchasing CABI since 2005. I can’t imagine that there are still people who haven’t heard of CABI, but I know you are out there. If you have never seen CABI, and do not live near me, I encourage you to get on the site, find a consultant and check out the clothes.

This giveaway is sponsored by local consultant Lori Gilmour. If you are not local, don’t hesitate to enter the giveaway as ordering from Lori will not be a problem. You will notice Lori’s contact information at the top of the home page. There is a great deal of info on the site and you connect with the Cabi blog which is called the Cabi Canary. There are some great ideas on making new combinations.

A number of years ago, Carol Anderson designed for Nordstrom. Perhaps you remember buying a Carol Anderson dress. I know I had one in the mid-90′s.

Carol decided to use her creativity to bring in unique fabrics, styles, ideas–CABI was born.

CABI is only sold by an independent consultant using the “home party” format. Each CABI consultant invests in the line of samples of various sizes each season. (2x a year)  Hostesses invite their friends and it’s a shopping party in your home. The line is shown in a presentation setting. Guests follow along in the catalog while the consultant shows all the options and combinations. Then it’s time to try on clothes! Consultants are trained to help with sizing so if the sample you want is not in your size, they will help you determine what will work for you.

I’ve hosted many CABI parties at my home. I LOVE the clothes. Quality. Flattering fits. Unique Styles. That is how I would sum up CABI. Here is what else I like about CABI.

1. Fast service. The clothes come so quickly.

2. Excellent return policy  If something isn’t right, your consultant sends you a return label. You stick it in the mail and a new item arrives or your account is credited.

3. I would have to credit CABI as one of the reasons I got into styling. My style definitely took a different turn after I started buying CABI Seeing the combinations in the catalog gave me new ideas. I “studied” and made it my own. I had never worn a belt other than with jeans. I wasn’t into skirts. I learned how to layer.

4. Longevity. I can easily wear my CABI clothes 4 years–some classic designs even longer. Carol Anderson does a fantastic job of bringing similar colors back season/season so you can mix and match with something purchased 2 years ago. Talk about Cost per Wear!

I mentioned flattering fits. Carol Anderson just gets it. She understands women’s bodies and that it’s important to show your shape, not hide it. My older CABI jackets had shape when everything else on the market was still “boxy”. I always look for number of seams. One seam in the back of a jacket does not help show your shape! You will notice small details in the construction of the garments and fabrics chosen that are all intentional to provide an amazing fit.

Price Point: Some of you may look at the prices and simply think it might be out of your price range. Please do not rule it out based on price.

I have a show every season so I can receive discounted clothes. I also purchase samples half price from Lori at the end of the season. I would even pay full price for a number of items–they’re worth it.

To enter the giveaway make a comment on the home page about your favorite piece after viewing the catalog and you’ll be entered in the drawing for a $25 Gift Certificate! If you know CABI, we’d love to hear what you like about it.

I will be hosting a show at my home on Thursday, March 31 at 7 pm. I will also have the clothes available for you to see April 25-29. If this interests you, e-mail me through the Contact Form.

Contest ends Tuesday, March 29 at 9 AM PST.

Be sure and go over to Musings of a Housewife for Fashion Friday and check out some other great fashion advice.

If I have to pick one favorite – the Knotty Lace Tee; however, there are many of the tops I’d love to have in my closet. CABI does great tops – they aren’t just plain tee’s and yet they are great for layering or wearing on their own.

Glad to hear you have noticed the same thing about the longevity,Noelle. I could pull out a skirt from 2007 and put something new with it and make it look completely different.

I was supposed to go to my first CAbi party on Wednesday and didn’t make it! I’ve been invited to several over the years and something ALWAYS comes up. It’s the one home-party event I’ve never been able to make it to for some reason. Cute clothes! I really like the Ruffle Up and Good To Go Jackets and the Zip It Up Sweater looks like something I would wear often. Have a good show.

Like several of there jackets. I have a pair of jeans and they are sooo comfortable and flattering! As I loose more weight I’ll like CABI even more :-) .

I LOVE CABI!!! The red zip it sweater looks so cute! I also like the rose tee. Would those two reds go together? My favorite, most flattering style for me is the criss-cross tee’s like the watercolor tee. I hope to come see the collection at the end of April.
