It’s not every day you “stumble” upon a store like Amenity Shoes. Last fall I found a quality shoe store in the Beaumont District of Portland. I love finding places off the beaten path and Amenity is just that. Always on the hunt for comfort/stylish shoes, I was surprised to find such a large selection of fun shoes. For me it’s about a 15 minute drive across the bridge at 3430 NE 41st Avenue, Portland, Oregon. www.amenityshoes.com and on Facebook (Click on the link to “like” and become a fan to receive updates.)
There on the shelves were all the brands I love: Sofft, Fidji, Pikolinos, Eric Michael, Hispanitas, Born and others that were new to me. There are selections that are a touch more dressy, and others very casual. At first glance from the website, you may find a different look– “edgier” styles that may not be your personal taste. I encourage you to glance at the website, but visit the store. There is so much more inside that can’t be featured on the site. You will also note that they carry men’s shoes, jewelry and handbags!
Owner, Liz Page is very knowledgable. She knows her stuff. I had such an enjoyable time talking shoes with her and sharing my opinions on different brands. Having a narrow foot herself, she totally can relate to all of you with those type of fit issues. However, even with my opposite problem she understood immediately and is very sensitive to each customer’s needs. When something didn’t work for me, she was very patient (and one has to be with my foot) and persistent to find the right solution. I love the great customer service and personal attention that a shop like Amenity shoes provides.
Liz loved the blog, was eager to partner with Style by Karen and do a Giveaway. I couldn’t be happier to promote such a fine business!
Now, here is the best part. This week is their Anniversary Sale and select styles will be on Sale–15-40% off through June 18th! And one lucky Style by Karen reader will win a $30 Gift certificate! Make a comment and you will be entered! First take a quick peek at some of the styles Liz sent in recent photos:
And two pairs I found at the store in recent months:
Fidji pair–softest leather I’ve ever worn. They are made in Portugal. Pikolinos: Conformed to my wide foot perfectly. Go visit the store this week and tell them I sent you!
Post your comment by Wednesday @ 9 pm PST to be eligible for the drawing.

Pick me, pick me…I’m a faithful follower of your blog!
This looks like a great store. How fun!! I hope I win. : )
So CUTE, I can’t wait to go visit the store! I’m dying for some new shoes!
I love those turquoise and green shoes! How fun to have them! It would feel like such an indulgence when I wore them. Looks like a great place to find unusual shoes for this shoe-a-holic!
Sounds like a FAB place, your blog continues to inspire me to be more fashion conscious rather than so practical and boring.
Thanks Karen!
I love shoes and comfortable ones at that. In a podiatrist’s office I talk to lots of people who are looking for comfortable and stylish shoes.
Since one of my to do’s after our consult time is to add updated shoes to my wardrobe and because I have those “hard to fit feet” I will have to check this place out! Thanks for the suggestion!
Karen, I LOVE the brown ones you posted with the little eyelets. I’ve been doing a lot of shoe shopping post-pregnancy as my feet grew half-whole size! I had some shoes I loved that I’ve hated giving up but I just can’t squeeze into them. I’ve had some trouble finding new ones that aren’t BORING for work and I’ve always loved a high heel, but carying around a kiddo in a car seat all the time is making me question teetering on top of too-high of a heel. Sounds like a very cool store I’d like to visit sometime! Great post!
I love this shoe shop! I’ve purchased two pairs of shoes, and two pairs of boots from Amenity. They focus on comfortable, fashion forward footwear. If it’s not comfortable, I won’t buy it. Thanks for the info, Karen.
Mike was telling me about your blog. All you had to say was shoes and I’m in!
Karen convinced me to give up my Doc Martens, but I’m still not convinced about pointy toes. If shoes could be both cute and comfortable, I’d be tempted!
This is THE place for cute AND comfortable! You dont have to love pointy shoes- Amenity has a LOT of different looks.
Karen, nice post. Will you be able to talk about styles of shoes for certain people (if you haven’t already)? For example, my body type (or leg/ankle type) doesn’t look good with straps around the ankle.
I appreciate you doing the “leg” work to find these types of stores. I don’t venture out much and I really don’t like shoe shopping. I have short, wide feet and have trouble finding comfortable shoes that look nice. I get very frustrated and find the pointy shoes annoying. They stick out too far and I bang them on things and they get scratched and scuffed. Thanks again for finding stores and people that care about the customer.
Love the info… can’t wait to get to this store! All of my favorite brands & styles. We need to go shopping Karen!!!! Looks like a great store, thanks!
If I was ever to win a blog contest, it is this one. Love the turquoise heels!
I love the fact that I have a personal wardrobe consultant who can introduce me to the coolest stores in Vancouver AND Portland. I would LOVE to win this gift certificate as shoes are on my list of “must update”
Look forward to checking out the store! Good luck everyone!
Ann, I have lots of helpful info on shoes under the fabulous footwear category on my homepage. I’ll also write you a personal note.
I had no idea the store exsisted. I really LOVED the shoes on the website. Thanks Karen for hookin me up!! Toni Taylor
